The Team

Mark has been a full member of the PGA since 1996, currently holding AA status.

Mark is currently studying for his Masters degree through Birmingham University in Sports Science and Coaching; his specialization - Golf Swing Biomechanics and Biofeedback Training. His thesis for this is on 'Plyometric Training and its Influence on Golf Swing Kinematics, specifically the Rate of Stretch and Rate of Recoil'. Starting his career in the West Country, Mark qualified 2nd in the annual PGA trainee of the year award, gaining a Titleist Scholarship.

In Brief:

• Recently presented and convened the 'Strength and Power Training for Golfers' seminar with US Olympic coach Harvey Newton (2008)
• Presents annually to the UK PGA covering topics such as 3D motion capture and 'The Body in Golf'
• Mark also co-convenes and presents at The Golf Athlete seminars in London, presenting to UK golf professionals, physiotherapists and strength and conditioning coaches
• Attended and assisted at Ramsay McMaster's international golf systems programme, also running the 'Train like a tour pro' boot camps alongside Ramsay
• Responsible for Newport University's golf scholars
• TPI CGFI Level 1 instructor
• The Golf Athlete levels 1 and 2
• Completed the NLP Level 1 course
• Attended UKSCA weight lifting for sports performance workshop
• A keen sportsman, Mark's passions include Olympic weight lifting and power lifting for overall sports performance.

Paul Dougan currently holds full AA status and is a member of the British and Swiss PGA. A talented sportsman, Paul reached a handicap of +2.4 by age 20 and was then selected in the English Boys National Team. He continued to develop as a player achieving status on the European Tour. Unfortunately, after only a few years as a playing professional, Paul was sidelined with a back injury. A move into teaching followed as Paul obtained his PGA Qualifications in 1996 at Royal Ascot Golf Club. Paul and Garry Malia have known each other since they were members of the same Junior Team!

In Brief

• Played on the European Tour and Challenge Tour from 1990 to 1993.
• Also played Sunshine and Safari Tour.
• Seven years spent with the David Leadbetter Organization. 
• in Switzerland since 1998.
• Teaching at Zurich Golf and Country Club up until early 2009.
• Currently teaching at Golf Schloss Goldenberg.
• He is NLP trained and has worked extensively with Sport Psychologist John Pates.
• Coaches European Tour Players and Swiss Amateur National Players (Boys and Girls).
• Speaks Fluent German.
